How To Turn Business Cards Into Professional Jewelry Packaging

How to turn business cards into jewelry display cards — Accent Yourself packaging tip

When you sell handmade jewelry, presentation matters. Beautiful packaging helps your jewelry feel more special, and it also makes your booth or online orders look more polished and professional.

The good news is that professional packaging doesn't have to be expensive.

One simple trick we've used for years is turning business cards into jewelry display cards. It's affordable, easy to do, and it keeps your branding consistent across everything you sell.

For small jewelry pieces like earrings, pendants, and delicate necklaces, business cards work surprisingly well as packaging.

Why This Works

Using business cards as jewelry packaging has several advantages:

  • It keeps your branding consistent
  • It saves money on separate packaging materials
  • It doubles as a marketing tool
  • Customers always leave with your contact information
  • It's simple and easy to reorder

For small handmade businesses, it's a practical solution that looks clean and professional without adding extra cost.

How To Turn Business Cards Into Display Cards & Packaging

The process is very simple.

First, design your business cards so they work both as a marketing card and a jewelry display card.

Once they arrive from the printer (I use VistaPrint and Uprint), I add small holes where the jewelry will attach. I have three punches for my jewelry cards — one for hoop earrings, one for stud earrings or ear wires, and a third one for necklaces and delicate chains. These can usually be found on Amazon and sometimes at craft stores.

After that, I simply attach the jewelry to the card, add a price tag, then place it in a small gift box or jewelry bag… or it goes directly into my market booth display.

That's it — simple, affordable, and professional.

What To Put On The Back Of Your Jewelry Cards

If you're using business cards as jewelry display cards, the back side becomes valuable marketing space.

This is where you can include information that helps customers find your shop again later.

Your card should include basic business details such as:

  • Your name and business name
  • Your website and/or Etsy shop
  • Email address
  • Social media links

Many sellers also add a QR code that links directly to an email sign-up link or to their website or Etsy shop. Customers can simply scan the code with their phone and visit your shop instantly.

You can also add a few extra touches like:

  • A coupon code for future purchases
  • A thank-you message
  • A note that this item is handmade

Design Tips For Business Cards

If you plan to attach jewelry to your business cards, it helps to design them with that in mind. I use Canva to design my own packaging and promotional materials. It is much more affordable than a graphic designer.

One important tip is to keep your logo and business name visible even when jewelry is attached. Earrings or pendants can easily cover important information if the design isn't planned carefully.

A few helpful design tips:

  • Leave open space in the center of the card for jewelry
  • Place your logo or business name near the top or bottom
  • Avoid placing text where the jewelry will sit
  • Keep the design simple and easy to read

A well-designed card allows the jewelry to be the focus while still keeping your branding visible.

Simple Packaging Can Still Look Professional

When you're running a handmade business, it's easy to feel like you need expensive packaging to look professional.

But simple solutions often work just as well.

Using business cards as jewelry display cards is one of those small tricks that keeps things affordable while still making your jewelry look neat, organized, and ready for customers.

And best of all, every piece leaves with your contact information — which makes it easier for customers to find you again.
